Sonnie Solomon is a senior double-majoring in the History of Art and Architecture and Anthropology with a minor in Museum Studies. She is interested in the formation of identity and how it is represented in different artistic media, particularly within the photographic realm.

Sean O’Connor is an Urban Studies and Architectural Studies double-major also pursuing a minor in Studio Arts scheduled to graduate in December 2017. He came to Pitt with a strong interest in architecture that began to blend with urban planning theory as he received greater exposure to the changing built environment of Pittsburgh, his hometown. Sean has been involved in multiple sustainability groups at Pitt, including the Give a Thread campaign and the Pitt Environmental Action Coalition.

Madeline Schatten is a sophomore Anthropology major who is also minoring in Museum Studies. While growing up in Pittsburgh she developed a passion for museums, especially the Carnegie Museums. Madeline spent the last summer studying abroad in Ecuador, where she studied ethnobotany. After she graduates in the spring of 2019, Madeline hopes to pursue a master’s degree in museum studies. 

Xiaoyuan (Freda) Zhang is a senior at Pitt double-majoring in History of Art & Architecture and Economics and minoring in Museum Studies. Originally from China, her experience with art as a child motivated her to pursue artistic endeavors once she arrived in the U.S. She became interested in museum work through her studies and plans to pursue a career in the museum field upon graduation.

Emily Ebersol is a sophomore Architectural Studies major working towards minors in Studio Arts and Museum Studies. She grew up in Rochester, New York, and has always been an interested in anything related to design. Emily is currently developing an independent research project that examines the ethics of museums’ collection and display practices involving African Art and how cultural identity is created or destroyed by these institutional strategies.

Alan Fan is a junior majoring in Architectural Studies and pursuing a minor in computer science and studio arts. His parents were immigrants from China, and Alan was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. Alan loved to play with LEGOs during his childhood, and fittingly chose Architecture as a career path. He hopes to get an internship for the summer of 2017, and to pursue a graduate degree in Architecture once he finishes his degree at Pitt.

Maureen Jones is a senior finishing a dual degree in Political Science and History and a minor in Museum Studies. Her interests center around the intersections of politics and art, specifically modern art movements that confront globalism, postwar economic developments, and sociopolitical revolution. At HAAARCH!!!

Isabella Sigado is a senior major in History of Art & Architecture who is minoring in Museum Studies. In her past three years at Pitt she has interned at Morgan Contemporary Glass gallery, the Frick Art and Historical Center, and the Andy Warhol Museum. She has also done work at the Boulder Museum of Modern Art and BoxHeart Gallery as an installation volunteer.
