Abigail Meloy

Abigail Meloy is a senior majoring in the History of Art and Architecture and Marketing, and minoring in Museum Studies. During her time at Pitt, Abigail has participated in the New York City Field Studies and has held a variety of arts-related internships, including positions at the Belvedere Research Center in Vienna, Austria; Quantum Theatre; Carnegie Museum of Art; and the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. At HAAARCH!!!, she will present a portion of her honors thesis, “Image and Word Reconsidered: Lorenzo Lotto’s Trescore Frescoes, Trinity, and Madonna of the Rosary.” In addition, she will share her experience as the 2016 Milton Fine Museum Profession Fellow at Contemporary Craft.

After graduation, Abigail will be traveling to London for two weeks through the London Field Studies program to conduct research on her comparative study of museum branding at Tate and Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History. Following a gap year in which she hopes to gain further museum experience, she plans on pursuing a Masters in either Art History, Museum Studies, or Market Research.
