Abigail Sites is a senior majoring in History of Art and Architecture and Anthropology, with a certificate in Russian and Eastern European Studies, specifically a concentration in Ottoman and Turkish art. During her time at Pitt, Abigail has held a variety of positions at museums in the area, including the Heinz History Center; the Fort Pitt Museum; and Fort Ligonier Museum.
Abigail has spent the last two years of her time at the University of Pittsburgh researching Henry Clay Frick’s homes in Pittsburgh and New York City and their transitions into public museums, particularly the layouts of each museum and how this affects visitor experience. In the Spring of 2017 Abigail was awarded a fully funded research opportunity from the Office of Undergraduate Research where she travelled to New York City to further her knowledge and research with The Frick Collection. At HAAARCH Abigail will be presenting a portion of her honors thesis, “Henry Clay Frick: From Private to Public”, centering around the aesthetic values of Henry Clay Frick’s homes and their influence on visitors.
