Han Bui

Han Bui is a Sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Architecture and minors in Sociology and Studio Arts. Architecture has always been her biggest passion and joy in life. As an International student from Vietnam, she is very fortunate to be able to observe how different architectural elements and atmospheres in a space influence one’s everyday experiences in different cultural settings. Han is strongly interested in architectural styles from different time periods and how they evoke different emotions and behaviors of the inhabitants. She believes that the evolving landscapes we see around us are often a narrative backdrop of time and change, reflecting the evolving storyline of our society. Spending most of her breaks traveling, Han seeks to explore in more depth the sociological and philosophical impacts that architecture has around the world.  She hopes to learn about the discipline not only as a discourse on aesthetically-pleasing, functional designs but also as a tool that connects humanity with nature in more integrative, sustainable, yet meaningful ways. At HAAARCH, Han will be presenting a model of her Family River Retreat from Foundations Studio, where she became greatly fascinated by both the pragmatic and poetic aspects of design.
