Harisa Martinos

Harisa Martinos is a sophomore, majoring in Architectural Studies with a certificate in Sustainability. Coming into Pitt, Harisa planned on pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, but after taking a couple of Architecture courses, she fell in love with design and the interstitial step between an initial idea and the final piece. On top of studying architecture, Harisa is a Resident Assistant and will continue working as one in the Appreciation of the Arts Living Learning Community next year! After graduation, Harisa hopes to pursue her masters in Landscape Architecture with focuses in ecological restoration and urban environmental planning.

Harisa is very excited to present the design that her class has worked on as a group. The design is a seating area made out of unconventional materials, such as cardboard tubes and bamboo, as a part of Pitt’s new design build studio (HAA 1910). The design is currently in the process of review by the university architect and is planned to be built by the end of the semester in Benedum courtyard.
