Maureen Jones is a senior finishing a dual degree in Political Science and History and a minor in Museum Studies. Her interests center around the intersections of politics and art, specifically modern art movements that confront globalism, postwar economic developments, and sociopolitical revolution. At HAAARCH!!! 2017, she will present her research examining the artistic practices of the Black Panthers as a recipient of the Archival Scholars Research Award in Spring 2017, as well as the work she performed while interning in the Special Collections Department at Hillman Library. Maureen has also served as an intern at the Archives Service Center, and worked as a research assistant in the History department. She has written and edited the student activist zine The Fourth Wave and served on the board of Pitt’s Rainbow Alliance. After graduation, Maureen plans to pursue a career in museums, exploring her passions in the history of marginalized groups and museological ethics.
