Teresa Leatherow

Teresa Leatherow is a senior in the College of Business Administration and Swanson School of Engineering. She has concentrated her undergraduate coursework, research, and initiatives on the intersection of economic, environmental, and social dimensions of the built environment, such as sustainability, transportation, and technology. Most notably, Teresa has conducted extensive undergraduate research on these topics at the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, and through her community-based science communication organization Co-OP: Connecting Ordinary People.

Most recently, Teresa has worked with Traffic21 of the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy of Carnegie Mellon University as an Elsie Hillman Honors Scholar to better understand how policy and technology converge to create more equitable, accessible transportation systems. Teresa is interested in applying her research and academic background to improving various aspects of Pittsburgh relating to sustainability, transportation, and economic development. At HAAARCH!!!, Teresa will present various research findings and projects relating to the built environment, highlighting challenges and opportunities for the city of Pittsburgh.
