Emma Vescio

Emma Vescio is a senior History of Art and Architecture major with a minor in English. She is interested in queer theory, relationships with objects, intimacy, definitions, personal archives, and time. Emma has held positions with Carnegie Museum of Art, Mattress Factory: Museum of Contemporary Art, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Bunker Projects, Silver Eye Center for Photography, and other Pittsburgh-based arts organizations. She hopes to continue her passion for contemporary art in grad school within the upcoming years, and ultimately plans to pursue a career in curation or exhibition planning.

At HAAARCH!!!, Emma will be discussing her honors thesis project on contemporary artist Adam Milner. Her thesis is a comparative study on Adam Milner’s work in relation to artists such as Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Andy Warhol. She examines notions of Milner’s life and collections of objects as an archive while discussing the intricacies of existing as a queer artist.
