Juliane O'Day

Juliane O’Day is a junior majoring in Architectural Studies, a field that she was interested in for quite some time before coming to Pitt. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she was well aware of the redevelopment of the neighborhoods that surrounded her home and witnessed firsthand the effect of gentrification on the community and the importance of creating environmentally conscious and sustainable buildings. At Pitt, Juliane has enjoyed her design studios and hopes to complete an architectural internship this summer. After graduation in spring 2018, Juliane plans to attend graduate school to become a licensed architect.

At HAAARCH!!! 2017, Juliane will be presenting her group installation project from the class “Approaches to the Built Environment” in fall 2016. The installation combined Columbia’s Orquideorama garden featured at the Carnegie Museum of Art last fall and the installation’s site location, which focused on Native American/Inuit artwork.
