Sarah Pomfret

Sarah Pomfret

Sarah Pomfret is a junior, pursing a Bachelors of Philosophy in Communication Science and Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology). She is working towards completing the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine certificate as well as the Museum Studies Minor.  Sarah studied studio arts under Pennsylvania artist, Sue Hand, for much of her life. Although her primary academic pursuits are in the medical field, her passion for the arts led her to the HAA department and the Museum Studies minor. This past fall semester in Museum Studies Seminar, Sarah served as the installation team leader for the Gertrude Quastler exhibition, contributing to the selection of works, label writing, and installation/deinstallation process. She hopes that her experiences in HAA classes will contribute to the visual analysis and creative thinking skills that are imperative to reading and analyzing swallowing tests and x-rays in her future career. In addition to her academic pursuits, Sarah serves as the president of Gamma Sigma Sigma service sorority and is a member of Phi Sigma Pi honors fraternity and NSSLHA. After graduation, Sarah will pursue a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and hopes to later return to higher education to pursue a PhD to further contribute to adult and geriatric dysphagia research.

Sarah will be available to talk about the Gertrude Quastler exhibition and her experiences in Museum Studies at HAAARCH 2015.
